Privacy

Privacy-first color extraction.

PhotoColors runs image extraction in your browser first, without requiring an account or an image upload. Email is only stored when you explicitly ask for a saved kit.

Local processing

The tool samples uploaded images in the browser canvas to generate palette data. The image file is never sent to the server. This keeps the first-pass extraction fast and private.

Saved kits and email

If you choose “Email me this kit”, we store your email address, the extracted palette colors, the palette name, the page path, and the time you saved it in Cloudflare D1. We never store the uploaded image or its filename. Saved kits are kept for 14 days and can be reopened from the private link in the email. Optional color tips are only sent if you tick the opt-in box, and every optional email includes an unsubscribe link. Email delivery uses Cloudflare Email Sending from noreply@photocolors.net; replies go to support@photocolors.net. The subscribe and event endpoints keep a short-lived hourly request counter keyed by IP to prevent abuse; those counters are deleted after 48 hours.

Generated data

Palettes, token exports, and PNG cards are created in your browser. Without a saved kit they exist only for the current browser session.

Analytics

The site loads Google Analytics (GA4) and a page-view analytics script from click.pageview.click. They receive standard page-view data such as the pages visited, referrer, and browser and device details. GA4 also receives fixed action names and output types for palette generation, copying, downloads, and failures. First-party funnel events (for example palette generation and export) are stored in Cloudflare D1 for up to 90 days so a recall sequence can stop when you export. These events respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Uploaded images, filenames, colors, and exported code are not sent to analytics.

Future integrations

If cloud storage, accounts, payments, or AI APIs are added later, this page will be updated before those features ship.
